Caption description for photo description of what it is and the creativity and the location and how lovely it all was yes yes.The Brief The intention for 1 Wilton Place was to create restful, relaxing graphics and installations that would enhance the daily experience for LinkedIn staff. The aim was to provide moments of pause within the workplace, giving people opportunities to step away from devices and computer screens and reconnect with their surroundings.
At the centre of the reception, we designed an interactive tree-like paper canopy inspired by the Celtic Tree of Life, or Crann Bethadh.The Design The project narrative brings together Irish heritage, nature and LinkedIn’s culture and values through the idea of growth and connection. A tree metaphor runs throughout the building, beginning with seeds in the basement and progressing through roots, trunk, branches, flowers, leaves and fruit as you move upwards through the floors. Each stage connects a part of the tree with themes drawn from LinkedIn’s values, creating layers of meaning to discover throughout the workplace.
The installation responds to movement, seasonal changes and the weather, creating the sense of a living, breathing tree.
In the atrium, the underbridges feature a backlit pattern inspired by the ancient Ogham alphabet, the earliest form of writing in the Irish language.
The illuminated pattern of lines and symbols shimmers as people move through the atrium, bringing light, texture and another layer of Irish heritage into the space.
The Outcome The completed graphics and installations create a cohesive, restful and engaging environment for LinkedIn staff. The narrative connects individual spaces across the building while giving each area its own identity, encouraging moments of discovery and conversation. Together, the installations bring Irish heritage, nature and LinkedIn’s values into the everyday experience of the workplace.
